Information on References.

There have been months where several companies asked us for references which became a burden on clients. We understand CEOs and Top Executives of our client companies are extremely busy and asking them to be Live references on a routine basis is a burden.

To simplify the reference process we asked a few clients to send us written references that we posted here.

Keith Harper, CEO of A & B Talent.  The picture to the right shows Keith with some of the people on his Dominican Republic remote/lower cost team. Keith flew to DR and took his DR team to a beach resort for a company retreat.

Here is Keith's written statement.

"When starting my recruiting business I relied on an offshore RPO in India for lower cost recruiting support. I connected with DJ Fogg on LinkedIn and after some time signed up with his Dominican recruiting operation.

I started with 2 DR based recruiter trainees. Two years later I have 15 people working through DJ's Dominican company. 4 people make up my backoffice support such as candidate onboarding & payrolling. The others are a mix of full recruiters, candidate sourcers and two I promoted to work direct with hiring managers and handle the entire recruiting process from creation of job description all the way through interviews, offers and hires.

DJ works with me like a true partner and is always on the lookout for my best interest.

If things keep going as they are, next year my Dominican team will grow to over 30 people.

On the date I typed this reference, I am flying to the DR to take my team of 15 people to a beach resort for a company retreat.

Scott White: VP with Hire Up Staffing

I signed with David's Dominican service at previous jobs and brought him in with my current employer.

I had tried offshore RPOs and very much like the fact that David is an experienced hands-on recruiter who knows both agency and corporate recruiting. The offshore RPOs in India and Philippines lack David's experience and they are a throw paper against the wall to see what sticks approach to recruiting.

I prefer David's business model where I perceive the Dominican people he hires and payrolls to work for me as my employees. I do not have to deal with payroll, taxes, insurance, legal or any of the normal overhead that exists with my USA based staff.

My cost averages 50% to 75% less than our USA based recruiting staff and the Dominican team are just as productive. Another benefit is lower turnover among my Dominican team.

Gerald Stover: Vice President of Talent Acquisition Vanderlande Corp.

Gerald began working with our service by hiring 4 people in the DR to train as candidate sourcers. The original thinking was the Dominican staff could only be used as sourcers.

Over the past 2 years there has been turnover of USA recruiting staff and the cost to hire decent recruiters has become very expensive.

The roles for the Dominican sourcers were expanded and over time they evolved into full recruiters who work direct with hiring managers.

The decision was made to promote the 4 Dominican sourcers to the full recruiter level and hire more people in the DR as part of a plan to build a larger remote and lower cost corporate recruiting team in the DR.

Chris Dobson:  CEO Mindseeker

I have been using an offshore recruiting firm in India for many years. However, there is a growing problem with offshore RPOs in India and Philippines.  When these recruiters call people in the USA, Americans have become cold and turned off by offshore recruiters.

One of the reasons is most tele-marketing and email scams originate in India or Philippines and Americans have become wise to this and cold towards being contacted by people in these countries.

An example is when American people on Indeed or LinkedIn are contacted by a person with an Indian name or accent the Americans delete the emails or hang up the phone.

Although the cost is low the negatives with offshore RPOs undermine the benefit of the lower cost.

David has provided me with people from the Dominican Republic who speak very good English and are bilingual Spanish which is the best match with the American demographic.

In fact, some of the people David has assigned to me lived and went to college in the USA and moved back to Dominican Republic where their families are located. They are basically Americans who can work from the DR for half the cost of working here at my Virginia location.

I can openly say that David knows his stuff about recruiting, training and offers great advice. I never got any of this from the leaders of the RPO companies in India.
